What's Your Favorite Age?

In five days I'll be turning 42 (that was hard to type, don't know how I'm gonna say it).  I've been thinking a lot about age lately, and trying to decide which year has been my favorite so far.

When you're 1 year old, you get to play all day, and have all your needs attended to.
When you're a teenager, you often get your first kiss.
When you turn 21, you can drink alcohol ... and feel like such an adult.
When you're 30, you feel more wise, yet still look young and feel attractive.
When you're 40, you know yourself better than you ever have.

I suppose if I had to pick one, for me it would be 30.  I was already married, and had my two beautiful children.  I didn't feel like I had quite peaked yet, so I felt I still had that to look forward to.  Yes, 30 was a really good age for me.  That being said, I wouldn't go back.  Been there, done that.  And who knows?  Maybe the best is yet to come.  :)

So now I'm curious: what has been your single favorite age so far?  Was there a year that really stood out? I'd love to hear...

  1. I would say every year so far has had something to offer, and something to take away. But I feel like right now is pretty awesome - I'm the happiest I've ever been - married to a great guy, fortunate to have two jobs I love, and surrounded by a supportive family, and incredible friends (like you!!) xoxo

  3. How old was I when I met you, cuz that was my best year :)
You know me T, I have loved ALL my years but I would def say 40's...not so much. I think if I had to choose, I would pick mid 20's. I was already married but we really didn't have a care in the world. We would just pick up and go anywhere we wanted, whenever we wanted...good times

  4. I loved 30 too! Had a huge surprise party on a yatch to start my year. I will be 42 in just a couple months and the more into the 40's I go, the harder it is for me. Luckily, we can do it gracefully together. Xo

  5. I'm generally very happy now. But everyone loves their 30s so much that it makes me sad that mine are being overshadowed by infertility.

  7. I had a "trauma" when I turned 40; I remember feeling awful (not sure why!).I just wanted to stay under the duvet and not get up ;-)

I think my fav year was 30; I got married in Maui and had big plans. All those plans came to fruition but I don't think it had anything to do with my age. However, now I am mid-40's I am clearer about what I want, I don't suffer fools so easily and I am finally feeling comfortable with who I am .
